with artist and tutor Jaya Ogilvie

Wednesday 7th July

10am - 4pm

13a Great King Street, EH3 6QW

This one day workshop is for children aged 8 - 14 who would like to learn how to draw portraits and capture likenesses. The workshop will take place in our studio at Great King Street. Taught by artist and tutor Jaya Ogilvie who boasts over 20 years of art teaching experience and specialises in teaching children.

During the first part of this workshop, the children will be guided through the fundamentals of drawing and creating a self-portrait. Capturing a likeness can seem hard to begin with, but with tips and advice from tutor Jaya you'll be sure to grasp it in no time!

In the second part of the workshop, a clothed, professional model will sit in a fun tableau for a portrait. This is a unique opportunity for your child to gain confidence at the easel working with a real model.

All materials and equipment are provided. Please wear clothes that are studio appropriate - charcoal dust gets everywhere! Please bring plenty of drinks and a packed lunch.

We will take a break for lunch in the school's garden if the weather is pleasant or in the studio if it's not!

In order to fulfil our obligations to tutors and models, as well as sustaining cash flow to the school, please note that we are only able to offer 50% of each class capacity to those booking with credit. If you are not able to redeem your course credit this term, we will endeavour to honour your credit in the following term. Please read our Refund Policy closely.
