with artist and tutor Sophia Burnell

Saturday 7th August

10am - 4pm

Meeting by the canon on Calton Hill

In this one day workshop students will work in sketchbooks on location in Edinburgh city centre. Starting on Calton Hill, with its iconic cityscape views, and progressing to Princes Street gardens after lunch.

Students will learn how to use diverse drawing and sketching techniques in order to render very varied types of objects, figures, architectural elements etc with just a sketchbook and a few easily transportable materials to hand.

To get the most out of this course it is preferable to have some previous drawing experience; most importantly though, students should enjoy the experience of drawing!
