The Golden Rule
Sunday 26th January from 10.00am - 4.00pm
EDS Studio, 4 Thistle Street NW Lane, EH2 1DR
The Golden Rule was devised by the ancient Greeks to measure the perfect proportions in everything they made, we will look at how artists from the renaissance to the present have used it to create both balance and tension in paintings and through the use of collage we will try three different approaches.
The morning will be spent using collage to create linear, grid and Fibonacci spiral compositions from still life objects and in the afternoon you will work up your preferred format into a mixed media painting.
No previous expertise in maths or painting required.
A board or strong paper primed with gesso or acrylic primer size 50cm x 80cm.
