Contemporary Flower Painting

with artist and tutor Helen Jackson

Tuesdays from 1pm - 3.30pm

10 Weeks from Tuesday 21st April

to Tuesday 23rd June

13a Great King Street, EH3 6QW

A ten week flower painting course, for both beginners and beyond, that aims through both composition and colour to gently inspire a contemporary, fresh approach to the art of depicting flowers

Over the term, working from a still life set up in the studio, we will focus on how colour can be used to exaggerate, soften or enhance the painting of the flowers to be  tune with the students’ personal response to them

How to create interesting compositions that compliment this unique expressive quality will form an integral part of the course structure; as well as how to use different methods of applying the paint, such as glazing, layering or impasto, which can visually influence the mood of a painting.
