Suitable for all levels including absolute beginners, but particularly useful for those with a little drawing experience, or those wishing to put together a portfolio.
This 10 week course is for all levels of students who wish to explore different kinds of drawing and are curious about the many different purposes of drawing. The group will look at how drawing is used for investigation, experiment, generating, planning and developing of ideas, and communicating thoughts and feeling
Working from a range of source material including still life and life drawing to sketchbook work and landscape studies the student will be introduced to alternative drawing styles and the use of different materials, with an aim to develop an individual approach to creating good honest drawing.
Led by the excellent tutor and artist Jane Weatherly, a hugely respected tutor who also teaches at Edinburgh University.
For the first week, please bring the items below, and further items will be discussed with the tutor in class:-
A cheap sketchpad A4, A3 or A2 (stapled binding for ease of pulling apart)
Any medium that you enjoy working in:
-Pencils, charcoal or drawing pastels
An old rag
