Service Description

This class caters for the youngest minds at The Edinburgh Drawing School. This class is intentionally scheduled as a 'first' experience in art making to bring enjoyment to students, thus allowing them to to delve into even MORE classes of a creative nature after school! There has been feedback from parents, that they are so delighted their child's experience is one of enjoyment and fun, which as a result develops their child's interest for more serious classes in the future. Drawing buildings and urban scenes offer training to learn about perspective and creativity. It also appeals to the left side of the brain which makes things logical, balanced and orderly. With the use of different mediums and techniques, there are countless ways to create a scene with buildings, roads, sky and people. These combined elements may even provide that first spark for children to be introduced to the world of architecture and the plans for the environments in which we live. Activities include painting, drawing (pencil/charcoal), collage and printing using shapes. Possible trip to create work outdoors looking at a street scene. Many different artists will be looked at to provide and explain to the children the different effects they can employ to make their work. Reggie holds a master’s degree in Art Business (with Merit) from Sotheby’s Institute of Art and a masters degree in Art History from La Salle-SIA College of Arts, Singapore. She moved to London in 2019, and enjoyed partaking in many art courses during this sabbatical, before moving to Edinburgh where we are lucky enough to welcome her as a member of staff to work with the children at The Edinburgh Drawing School. All materials provided. Image Credits: 'An Old Street' by L S Lowry More images coming soon.
