Service Description

GOING BACK IN TIME: Drawing & Painting models in 18th Century Costumes This workshop is for students of intermediate drawing or painting ability. This is an acrylic painting workshop. In this exciting two day workshop students will have a unique opportunity to draw and paint a double portrait of our models in their costumes. Starting with a brief slide show for visual inspiration we will make a series of drawings exploring line, tone and composition before moving on to create a visually stimulating painting using acrylic paints. Materials - sketchbook/drawing paper - pencils, rubber, charcoal - acrylic paper, primed board or canvas if you prefer (any size the student feels comfortable using) - acrylic paints: a selection of colours that you may have, including cadmium red, alizarin crimson (or magenta), cadmium yellow, lemon yellow, cerulean blue, ultramarine, black and titanium white - brushes - palette (tear off palettes recommended) - rags There will be a lunch break of around 45 minutes each day, students are welcome to eat in the studio or pop out for something. Painting can be messy so you may want to consider wearing a painting shirt or apron.
