Service Description

This two day portrait drawing workshop is suitable for those with some drawing experience, though students may be new to portrait drawing and have not necessarily previously worked with a model. Working directly from the model to create a series of portrait drawings that capture likeness and character, whilst paying attention to facial anatomy and proportion. Students will explore various techniques and develop skills using basic drawing materials before moving on to include tonal range and colour. This 2 day course will culminate in students making a self-portrait drawing on the final afternoon. Materials - Drawing paper-white cartridge paper sheets A2 or A3 - Pencils-2B, 4B , 6B recommended - Charcoal-willow and compressed - Charcoal pencil - Putty rubber - Chalk pastels - Inks and watercolour optional
