Service Description

If you are inspired by your natural surrounding environment, and would like to study this further through immersive drawing, this is the course for you. This is an opportunity to draw and paint alongside nature and conservation artist and enthusiast Leo du Feu. Objects and images will be provided to work from each week and you are also welcome to bring along your own. (Leo would love to see your collections of skulls, shells, stones and the like!). You are also welcome to bring your own nature sketchbooks to show and discuss with Leo and to work from in the class. We will be based in the rear studio with its lovely garden view and students will also be encouraged (but not forced!) to go out into the garden to sketch the plants, trees and even wildlife we find there. There will be the opportunity to try working in all sorts of media - pencil, pen, pastel, ink, watercolour to best supoort your drawings... We will be inspired by Leo's own work and by the works of lots of other landscape, nature and wildlife artists. Leo will offer demonstrations and chats to the whole group. There will also be a lot of opportunity for self-guided working with Leo going round offering one-to-one advice and demos, he will support you in drawing technique to best convey the life of the subject you are trying to capture.
