Service Description

All materials provided Wednesdays 11am - 1pm No Class 1/2 term Wednesday 14th October Many people lament 'I have not really drawn since school' ... somehow yearning a lost part of themselves. We all dance, sing.... and draw, as young people, until sadly life takes over and we rarely lose our thoughts in a sketch, or drawing for months, then years at a time.... This course not only seeks to restore this creative outlet in you, but also seeks to give you an established language with which to become liberated and inspired in your drawing. Course Structure: 10 mornings Wednesday 11am - 1pm 23rd September to 2nd December 2026 in person class Days of personal project 3-8 December, online one to one session Wednesday 9th December Christmas Party Wednesday Night 9th December 6-8pm 10 mornings Wednesdays 11am - 1pm, 13th January to 17th March 2027 in person class Days 18th March to 23rd March personal project, one to one in person or online critique Wednesday 24th March Easter Party Wednesday night 24th March 6-8pm! We will explore a varied and rich variety of subjects from very simple single object drawing to start off with, to drawing hands to portraits and figure. The course will start off using pencil, then will expand to introducing different dry media, but always with the option to fall back on only pencil if you wish to.... Every three weeks will be dedicated to the following understanding and exposure to techniques which allow us to explore - Simplifying shapes - Light & Dark - Form & 3D Dimension - Composition - Nuance & Atmosphere - Intentional Choices By the end of the course, you will have a wealth of drawing experience and experimentation behind you, not having forgotten the 'power of play' along the way. By the end of the course, we hope you will have rediscovered your delight in drawing, and much like the ability to play a musical instrument, be able to elevate your everyday life through drawing.
