Service Description

Do you like drawing and painting outside? And do you like paintng watercolours from nature? We have a beautiful garden full of plants trees and flowers ready and waiting for you... We’ll do a lot of sketching of trees, plants and flowers, using pencils charcoal and watercolour, in our rather wild garden at 13 Great King Street. Weather dependent, we will have the indoor classrooms to use at our disposal for bringing plants indoors, otherwise we will draw and paint outside. Structure of the Botanical Watercolour session with Siri France will be as follows: 10.30 am arrive 10.30am - 11am see some examples of botanical watercolours and have a demonstration from Siri 11am - 12.30pm choose, then paint your own flowers and plants to draw and paint sitting on picnic blankets outside 12.30 - 1.15 - break for a packed lunch 1.15 - 2.30pm finish your painting or make one more before home time Emphasis will be on observation, investigation of natural and man made forms, and having fun of course! Siri France is a painter from Edinburgh, returning to town after a 15 year spell in Los Angeles. She has many years of experience teaching drawing and painting to all ages and levels, both in her home studio and at several art schools and art centres in LA. Siri is a longstanding tutor of EDS snd teaches adults and children who all flourish and develop artistically with her. All materials provided by The Edinburgh Drawing School It may be useful for you to bring your own watercolour sketchbook.

Cancellation Policy

We will provide a 50% refund if you give written advance notice up to 30 days before the course start date. 0% refund 30 days before a course starts. Please note there is an administration fee of £5 payable in respect of such refunds to cover payment processing fees. You will need to inform a member of administration staff in writing by emailing EDS at Additionally, if you withdraw for any reason after the course has started you will not be entitled to a refund. We are a small business and we depend on every booking to ensure that classes can go ahead. If a student is unable to attend a class due to illness, then EDS must be informed immediately so that the tutor can be notified. If you are missing a class because you suspect that you have developed Covid-19, please let us know immediately so that we can alert fellow student and tutors. Non-attendance of classes/workshops does not automatically mean a refund, however EDS will assess the circumstance
