Service Description
Exploring famous artists for kids is lots of fun and a great opportunity to expose them to new art processes and techniques, as well as teaching kids about art history. Children will do different forms of activities each week (using a variety of mediums) whilst being inspired by works of famous artists. Activities: - Recreate Van Gogh’s ‘The Starry Night’ using different types of paint - Collage/cutouts in the style of Henri Matisse. Inspiration from his works suchnas ‘La Tristesse du Roi’ - Make your own pop art like Andy Warhol’s ‘The Complete Athlete Series’. Using several paper copies (in black & white) of a child’s photo, they will paint, colour or add other subjects/background to their work. - Use oil pastels to draw flowers like Georgia O’Keeffe’s ‘Red Poppy’ - Abstract splat painting like Jackson Pollock’s ‘Number 8’ - Collage to recreate Pablo Picasso’s ‘Three Musicians’ or any of his famous face/figure paintings - Make your own version of Katsushika Hokusai ‘The Great Wave’ - Create an artwork like Edvard Munch’s ‘The Scream’. If possible, use the child’s face. - Paint a landscape scene like David Hockney’s ‘Nichol Canyon’ All materials provided. Reggie holds a master’s degree in Art Business (with Merit) from Sotheby’s Institute of Art and a masters degree in Art History from La Salle-SIA College of Arts, Singapore. She moved to London in 2019, and enjoyed partaking in many art courses during this sabbatical, before moving to Edinburgh where we are lucky enough to welcome her as a member of staff to work with the children at The Edinburgh Drawing School.
