Covid-19 Guidelines

  • Please arrive no more than ten minutes before your class start time to ensure that our staff have plenty of time to ensure that cleaning regimes can be fulfilled and that you are not meeting other students leaving the building

  • Please ensure that you have done an LFD (lateral flow test) before class each week; please do not attend if you have had a positive result.

  • On entering the building you will be expected to sanitise your hands using the hand gel provided (though you may bring your own if you prefer)

  • Most studio-based classes at Great King Street will be split between the two studios and each working space (containing your easel and table, or table and chair). For the time being the portrait and life drawing classes will be smaller and in one studio.

  • Please hang your coat on the individual hook provided next to your working space in the studio

  • We recommend that students wear a mask in communal spaces, however one seated at tables or the easel students may remove their masks. This rule does not apply to those under 12 years of age.

  • Shared equipment will be sanitised between users

  • Our toilet facilities will be available, but we ask that students do not queue in the corridor

If you are missing a class because you suspect that you have developed Covid-19, please let us know immediately so that we can alert fellow student and tutors. Out of normal office hours, please text on 07710 968 955 (TEXT ONLY).

Please ensure that your contact details are up-to-date. In the event of contact with coronavirus, we are bound to pass details onto the NHS Track & Trace.

There are a number of processes that we have put in place to ensure the safety of our tutors, models and students. Please read the guidelines below carefully:

We will be:

  • limiting the number of people per studio and maintaining a maximum occupancy

  • reorganising studio facilities to allow for maximum distancing

  • increasing time between classes to allow distancing measures to be met

  • providing hand sanitiser at accessible places near to where people will have contact with high traffic communal areas, eg exit/entrance and in studios

  • putting up signs to remind people to wash their hands and not touch their faces

  • putting in place cleaning regimes to make sure high traffic communal areas are kept clean

 We have:

  • identified surfaces that are frequently touched and by many people, eg handrails, door handles, shared equipment

  • put cleaning regimes in place to clean studio equipment between each user

  • identified what cleaning products are needed to ensure that surfaces and equipment are sanitised

Please read our Terms & Conditions closely.
