Service Description

Working from the nude model is a core activity within art practice and during this course you will be encouraged to develop your understanding of the human form, maintaining throughout a creative and personal approach. You will be working in charcoal. This class will enable you to: - Work with charcoal - Understand proportion, body mass and structure - Investigate new ways of looking at and understanding the human figure - Take a personal and confident approach to drawing Graham has had many years experience in tutoring Life Drawing and is a well known figure in the arts scene in Edinburgh. His own practice is rooted in drawing; both life and portraiture; and he now has collectors for his extraordinary drawings, and paintings, from all over the world. Materials List (Please bring the following each week) - Willow charcoal thin and medium - Putty rubber (Daler Rowney highly recommend) - Masking tape - Recycled paper/sugar paper A1 Although priority is given in August to those wishing to sign up for a whole year of life drawing, of course we are able to give places to those wishing to attend for a single term if there is availability. This class is open to yearly booking commencing every September. If any place has not been taken in January or April, we are able to consider students to join the course for January Spring Term I and or April Spring Term II as a single termly booking. We will always be consider a student already aware they cannot attend the full year at the start of the year when there is availability.


Cancellation Policy

We will provide a 50% refund if you give written advance notice up to 30 days before the course start date. 0% refund 30 days before a course starts. Please note there is an administration fee of £5 payable in respect of such refunds to cover payment processing fees. You will need to inform a member of administration staff in writing by emailing EDS at info@edinburghdrawingschool.co.uk. Additionally, if you withdraw for any reason after the course has started you will not be entitled to a refund. We are a small business and we depend on every booking to ensure that classes can go ahead. If a student is unable to attend a class due to illness, then EDS must be informed immediately so that the tutor can be notified. If you are missing a class because you suspect that you have developed Covid-19, please let us know immediately so that we can alert fellow student and tutors. Non-attendance of classes/workshops does not automatically mean a refund, however EDS will assess the circumstance
