Service Description

The sky is the limit when it comes to painting animals! Few subjects offer the variety and dynamics that are possible with a lovely beast and the environment in which they are found. If you want to paint an otter, you will likely learn how to paint the appearance of flowing water and wet fur. If you want to paint a bird in the sky, you will also learn how to paint clouds and the gesture of flight. It’s a perfect blend of personality and the elements coming together. In this two-session workshop, Jason will lead you through the completion of two animal paintings - please see below for references supplied by the artist. Before starting each painting on a separate study sheet, we will practice the unique gesture drawing, brush techniques, and color mixes appropriate to capture the most character of each. Then we will apply our preparations to make the final beautiful painting. And with the applications learned here, there’s no doubt you can go and continue to paint more of what you love! This open and interactive course will spotlight the instructor’s palette, work surface, and reference in real time, so you can directly see exactly how he mixes and applies paint. The process will be step by step, guiding you with short demos so you can take time to follow along and ask questions all the way to the finished painting.
