Capucine Galland
Capucine Galland is a curator with a focus in contemporary art and an academic background spanning from medieval art to contemporary art studies. Holding an International Master of Arts in Museology and Curatorship from the University of Bologna, Capucine graduated with honours, completing a thesis entitled “The Elephant in the Room” focused on recent institutional responses to the war in Ukraine, examining how art communities in Russia, Ukraine, and the Baltic States, particularly RIBOCA (Riga International Biennial of Contemporary Art), grappled with issues of local representation, inclusivity, and institutional critique under political pressures..
In addition to academic studies, Capucine brings hands-on experience from roles across Europe, including as the Assistant Curator and Production Administrator at Kunsthal 44Møen in Denmark, where she managed large-scale exhibitions, performances, and artist collaborations. At the Centre of Contemporary Arts in Glasgow Capucine developed an in-depth understanding of curatorial logistics, community engagement, and cross-cultural mediation. Finally, working at the Musée du Louvre in Paris, Capucine experienced and studied first-hand the exceptional collection of a world-renown museum.
With extensive knowledge of art history, Capucine connects historical context to contemporary artistic practices, offering a perspective that spans cultural shifts in representation and expression from early medieval art to Renaissance realism. Fluent in English, French, and Italian, Capucine brings a multicultural approach to curation and art history education.
