These classes for ages 8 - 14 are designed to engage and inspire young people to explore their creative side. With formal techniques of observational drawing being explored mainly through still life studies, simply and step by step. Throughout the course we will be exploring various techniques and media, composition and proportions, and we'll be making use of a range of still life objects as well as self portraiture. The classes will be varied, exploring different subjects each week, allowing the children to continually learn and experiment with art in a supportive environment, and helping them bring out their individual strengths, whilst supporting and assisting them in more unfamiliar areas. Exploring concepts such as measuring, composition, perspective, linear and tonal quality, each week the children will produce a finished piece of work to bring home.
