Drawing the Clothed Figure
with artist & tutor Alicia Coombs Thursdays 10am - 12.30pm
Service Description
This morning drawing course can be taken as a stand alone course, or attached to the afternoon course which then goes on to paint the same pose for a further 2.5 hours. You will either make 10 or 5 drawings over the ten weeks depending on preference and whether you are also painting in the afternoon. During the morning students will bring on their drawing of the clothed figure either in pencil or charcoal on paper then leave it there, with some coloured pastel if they choose, OR if they wish to then paint in the afternoon during 'Painting the Clothed Figure' course, their morning session will comprise drawing directly onto the canvas with charcoal / pencil and then paint over, or on paper and then transferred to canvas. This class is similar to life drawing, yet with the clothed figure an added visual 'identity' to the atmosphere of a drawing is achieved, with various abstract shapes to observe, and for the eye to view over the work as a whole.
