Service Description

Join our lovely tutor Siri France as she teaches you about capturing the human form but with a sense of movement and freedom. This workshop will give students the opportunity to draw the clothed figure in a variety of active poses. The challenge here is balancing structure with a sense of liberation and movement. Working from the model, students will explore ways of sketching to describe weight, balance, momentum and gesture. This is a great chance to get into the process of drawing, without fixating on the outcome. We often do our best work when we are relaxed and throwing caution to the wind! Inspiration will come from looking at works by masters of this art, including Rodin, Rembrandt, Picasso, and Fischl. Materials will be pencil, charcoal, watercolour and ink.
